4th Advances Against Aspergillosis Conference - Rome, Italy, February 2010

150

4th - 6th February 2010

With the launch of several newer antifungals in the last few years and anticipated clinical trials of others, the field of Aspergillus is in a state of rapid advancement.

Despite the incidence of invasive aspergillosis increasing and the disease being the leading fungal cause of patient mortality, prior to the 2004 Advances Against Aspergillosis meeting, there had been limited communication among experts in the area. This opportunity to gather the world's aspergillosis experts in one venue promotes collaborative relationships amongst clinicians, scientists, and industry to further advance the field.

The 2010 event was the most successful yet with well over 500 registered participants and ~200 submitted abstracts.

Peter Warn joined other leading experts to give an early morning workshop opening the event, on "Alternative Models for Studying Aspergilli".
