JOB VACANCY - PT Laboratory Technician

Euprotec Limited is a successful anti-infective CRO company based in Manchester.  Due to growth we are currently recruiting for a:

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (Part time)

Duties will include providing technical support in a range of project specific research activities. These will include:

·         Preparation of bacterial and fungal culture media

·         Maintenance of fungal and bacterial stocks

·         Quality Control of culture medium

·         Preparation of glassware and experimental equipment

·         Preparation of experimental reagents

·         Counting bacterial and fungal load on culture plates

In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake other support duties, including housekeeping and general laboratory work. Basic microbiology techniques are preferred, but not essential as training will be given.

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic team player who also has the ability to work independently. The post would suit a laboratory technician or a graduate with a good honours degree. Basic computer skills in excel and word would be advantageous.

Hours of work are 20-25 per week (Monday-Sunday) based over 4-5 days, to be agreed.

The salary for this post will initially be £13-15K per annum, pro-rata based on experience.
